Hello! I hope you are all well. First, I will describe this pen drawing, then the technique and style used.
I created this drawing in blue ink (blue ballpoint pen) on a sheet of white paper. The drawing depicts a bouquet of flowers placed on a piece of furniture, a rectangular coffee table. The main element is a vase containing a bouquet composed of: several tulips, recognizable by their characteristic cup shape; a sprig of lavender or a spike flower reaching upwards to the right, adding verticality and movement; and roses or round, more fully opened flowers. The vase rests on a rectangular table or console, viewed from the front, which serves as both a support and a container. The tabletop is simple and flat, while the body of the table is treated with vertical and cross-hatching to suggest wood or a textured effect. The vase sits on a rectangular support resembling a coffee table or a wooden sideboard. The lower part of the piece of furniture is treated with vertical and cross-hatching to suggest the grainy texture of the wood.
Technique and Style
The material used is a blue ballpoint pen. The drawing is entirely monochrome. The lines are quite free, with cross-hatching and shading to create volume and texture. The vase is shaded with curved lines to give the impression of roundness. The bouquet is rendered more loosely and expressively. The wooden base is depicted with fairly dense hatching to convey texture. The style of the drawing is semi-naive realism. The rendering remains simple and spontaneous. It is an observational and practice drawing, probably done quickly.

The bouquet is well-centered, and the base provides a solid and stable foundation. The contrast between the light and airy flowers at the top and the heavy mass of the furniture at the bottom works well. The placement of the actual pen next to the drawing creates a playful effect. The ballpoint pen used to create the drawing appears in the final image.

It is a pleasure to draw still lifes. The choice of flower bouquet (tulips + lavender + roses) evokes spring and a warm, feminine interior.
