The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway is a linear green area that runs through several Boston suburbs. These are Chinatown, the Financial District, the Waterfront, and the North End. It was officially opened in 2008.
Today, the Greenway encompasses gardens, plazas, and tree-lined walkways. The Greenway is a key feature of the modern reinvention of Boston, Boston Harbor, the South Boston Waterfront, and the Harbor Islands.
It is so nice to be able to walk away from the busy roads while making your way through this part of the city. These types of areas in a busy city have a calming influence on its residents and visitors.
