Hey peoples.. So I've been working a lot on this contest and trying to make it better.
We recently had a round to try to help us figure out how to make the levels work more functionally and to suggest artifacts and it was very helpful! We will probably be incorporating a few ideas from each person who submitted.
For now.. And I'm open to suggestion if you think I should change this somehow, but what I decided is..
Each time you get a vote from a judge you get 1 EXP point. And each time you win a round you get 3 EXP points.
According to that math it would make our current player line up look something like this.

I haven't decided which will be the first level up threshold yet, I'm thinking maybe at 50 XP. But haven't decided.
The way we will make leveling up functional is that each time you level up you will get to choose either an artifact or a relic or some kind of attribute, this hasn't been totally figured out yet, but we do have a list of artifacts and relics in the works.
Please try to remember we are figuring this out as we go and evolving as new and better ideas present themselves.
One of those was.. Instead of it being the two players with the most wins who face off at the end, thanks to a discussion and some brainstorming with we will be doing a sort of sweet 16 elimination round at the end.
This will give 16 players a chance at the 155 steem grand prize, not just 2!
Which I think is a pretty big deal and really important.
So if you're one of these players who isn't in first or second, no worries! You'll still most likely have a chance for the grand prize. :)
In fact, at this rate right now.. We only even have 13 players who even have XP points at all, and around half of them are inactive!
We do have many other players playing who haven't got any XP yet.. But.. I'm not really sure how this will end up working out unless we get a bunch of more players and a more diverse amount get XP.
Maybe we can have the judges vote on letting some people play, even if they didn't get any XP.. Though, something tells me.. By the end of the contest, there will HOPEFULLY.. Be at least 16 somewhat active players who have some XP.
Yet.. Right now.. Technically, if you thought you were out of the competition for the grand prize, you're not. Pretty much everyone is still in if they want to be since we don't even have the full 16 players for the tournament who have XP.
So.. This is once again a good reason why we need to get the word out, and maybe I should have announced this sooner.. But I was still figuring it out in my brain.. And it just finally all started to click and I think I understand it now.
If you want to try to help get more players, try to remind them that they still totally have a good chance at the grand prize! Just because a few people have a number of wins and XP, doesn't mean it's too late!
Okay.. I think that's everything for now. Will probably have more info and the more refined rules up soon!
Also as a reminder or to anyone who doesn't know but may want to play, we have two rounds going right now, one of which has a 25 steem reward! Would be happy to see some more faces. :) Cheers and have a nice day!
PS.. Kryptocek came up with a good idea in regards to allowing people to gain XP outside of the rounds and here were a few of his ideas..
"Referring a new member to IFC
Getting a sponsor outside of a regular round (MIN 10 Steem"
I think we could totally add something like that, where there are other ways to gain XP outside of just winning rounds or getting a judges vote. Any ideas other than the two above that kryptceo mentioned? Lemme know! Also, still looking for more relic/artifact/attribute ideas too.
