Can someone explain to me or send a link that explains how to argue against the thought voting for a third party candidate is like voting for the other party?
Let me explain a bit about my situation. I am not voting at all. I don't really believe in voting nor do I think my vote counts. However, I have been trying to introduce my family to anarchy for some time now.
First, I just tried being straight forward about it and said "I'm an anarchist, I think it is immoral for one person to rule over another" (It might not be your preferred argument but it was the only one I knew at the time and I thought it also might help sway them because they are Christians). That approach definitely didn't work. They immediately shut down.
So I decided to try a softer approach by talking about third party candidates. During the beginning of the election they talked about how bad Trump was but, now that he is the Republican nominee, they are voting for him. One day they were talking about how bad he was so I decided to see if I could get them to even consider looking at Gary Johnson which maybe would make them more open to the next step: Anarchy. BIG MISTAKE. My dad and grandpa flipped out talking about how a vote for third party is a vote for Hillary. I have literally no argument for that (I didn't even tell them I'm not voting. They probably think I'm voting for Johnson)
So does anyone have any argument for that? Or I guess any other suggestions about how to approach them? I am relatively new to this so I haven't heard very many arguments.
Thanks
