Today, I will be telling you how a customer made me resume the crocheting business as she requested that I should make sandals for her but before I proceed with how I was able to approach the customers, it’s an honor to say greetings to the good authors of NeedleWorkMonday community because it’s indeed a pleasure to have you to the end of October 2022.
Honestly, I have missed making crochet work to enable me present to the community but the good news is that a customer made me get back to it. Already I didn’t just stop making crochet footwear but I only took a break from it because the primary customers that used to patronize me in crocheted footwear are mostly students because my crochet office is close to a University. So, immediately there was a general University strike across the whole of Nigeria that made the student go for a break that took some months, I decided to stop making crochet works because there was a decline in crochet work demand. But today, students are back to school again.
To be honest, I was surprised when a student called me that she will like me to crochet sandals for her because she will be wearing them back to school. I nearly rejected the offer from the student because for now, I don’t really have enough crochet materials but at the same time, I looked at it that a customer needs to be satisfied by all means in order not to lose the customer to another shoemaking vendor. This was how the student made me resume crocheting works.
Do you know the funny thing about these crochet sandals I presented here? During the process of crocheting the sandal, a lot of customers saw the sandal and complimented positively about it. So from now, I think it’s actually the right time to start making crochet footwear.
Below, I will like to fine-tune you a little about the materials, tools, and adopted procedures used in crocheting sandals. At least, this will definitely help you to make one for yourself or one for a close friend.
Materials that I considered in crocheting the sandals are as follows:
Yarn.
Sandals sole.
Buckle.
Thread.
Beads.
Gum.
We are now going to be looking at the tools adopted below:
Crocheting pin and needle.
Hammer.
Brush.
Sandpaper.
Below, we now have to look at the key processes that were carried out in crocheting the sandals:
The thing that should always come to your mind before you crochet sandals is to make sure that the materials and tools to be used are obtained from the market.
After the materials are gotten from the market, you will now have to ascertain the leg size of the sandals to avoid ending up making oversize sandals.
You will now have to start crocheting the round design of the sandals using a yarn material. After crocheting the round design, you will now have to join them back again.
Crochet the sandals where the leg will enter together with leg-size leather.
You will now have to crochet the round design and where the leg will enter together.
Now, it’s time to sandpaper the sole and the top leather which the design of the top sandal was crocheted.
Use a brush to apply some gum on them gently.
Place the crochet top sandals top leather and the sole under the sun for about 2hr for proper drying.
You will now have to join the top crochet sandals leather and the sole to form the complete sandals.
