Here are a few shots from the water's edge in Petit-Saguenay. Without ND filters, the best time to get long exposures of seascapes is dusk, when the lighting is dim, but not too dim, and the sky is full of colour. This first shot was taken 10 minutes after the sun slipped out of sight, with a 1-second exposure. It shows the blurred movement of a single wave in the rocks.
This next image was taken 15 minutes after the first, and the lighting allowed for a 15-second exposure. It blurs together several waves, giving the impression of a smoother and more milky water surface.
This next one was taken 3 minutes later. It is a 30-second exposure, with an even smoother water surface.
This last one is a photo of me, shot by my wife. Unlike my tripod, I was just too fidgety to pose for the 8-second exposure. Nonetheless, I show up as a faint shadow behind my camera.
