Details:
Tana is an app that allows you to have a Picture in Picture window of anything, be it a webpage or a video. It was a promising project and it did not have a logo to represent it. So I asked the project owner's permission to make one and I did. The conversation is linked below:
The Issue: https://github.com/jMavarez/Tana/issues/7
The Idea:
The name of the project is derived from the Spanish word 'Vetana' which means "window". So the logo comprises of a window transitioning into a PiP window. The window is floating, just like a PiP window which floats around your screen.
Recreating the logo:
Creating 3 isometric rectangles in order to create a cuboid
Joining them together and filling them with color
Creating 3 cirlces which are isometric
Filling them with appropriate colors and duplicating the "window" to create a smaller one
Making the single color version of the logo
Deleting the unwanted portion
The finished logo
Benefits
The project lacked a logo to represent itself, and by making a logo which is minimal and memorable I have improved the visual identity of the project. It's a simple logo which represents the project adequately. Different ideas which resonates well with the project were combined in order to create this logo, resulting in a logo which goes along with project seamlessly.
