Have you ever wondered how will sound songs from The Doors final album,1971 L.A. Woman live ?An answer to that question is answered when Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger formed,or reformed The Doors, but under the name The Doors of the 21st Century, due to law suit from John Densmore in which he demand that name The Doors should not be used anymore,in respect to Jim and band's legacy.
In that i agree with him,but i also think that Ray and Robbie have right to perform songs they written and recorded with The Doors.
Anyway, guys recruit Ian Astbury from The Cult to be a vocalist and bass player and drummer from Krieger's band. They tour for some time, and record and released a DVD called The Doors of the 21st Century - L.A. Woman Live.I bought this DVD at least 17,18 years ago from curiosity and i like it a lot.
Ian did good job on vocals, band is really tight and well tuned, and feeling to see Robbie and Ray in their brilliance is more than a nice.
Here is full concert, luckily i found it on you tube and would like to share it with all of you music and Doors fans, hope you enjoy it.
I know, without Jim it's not the same, but just try to be focus on Robbie and Ray and you'll see it like i did.
They perform entire L.A. Woman and some classics from Doors other albums, for me it was really a delight to hear songs from L.A. Woman because it's my favorite Doors album.
