Me looking stoic about the magnitude of what I see before me.
The pastels of the Desert.
A wall of the dead horse bend.
It took us a few hours to full traverse the bend. A giant serpentine ravine that goes on for miles. Millions of years to carve a few hours of walking down. The force of nature will always carve its way through.
The days were stormy
As you can see the time we went down south we had cloudy and even rainy weather. At first we were down trodden about the conditions, until we started taking photos. We realized very quickly that the way the light was coming through the storm made for a wonderful effect.
The desert is a blessing of interesting natural features splashed with the most dynamic colors. When the light hits just right and if you are fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time. You will walk away with some impressive photos.
If you spend enough time in the desert you begin feel a little different. Maybe from the energy of the rock collective. Maybe the stone monoliths harmonize something about the environment. Or maybe the lack of fellow members of my species, or the microwave frequency's that bombard our consciousness in other populated areas.
Either way the desert will always leave you different that when you entered. Sometimes in the most quiet and desolate places, you find the most.
When everything is turned off, you become turned on.
