Art Time!

It's arts time again for me and the kids (oh well, Little Miss, particularly). I asked her what she wanted to do this time, and she said, just "drawing". Meaning, freehand, whatever-comes-to-mind drawing.

She has several in her notebook, which we will share from their Hive account@divinekids account.

However, what should have been a drawing session became a painting session again.

I have to try something "new".

As Little Miss was painting away, I thought I'd make something different this time.

Browsing through Pinterest, I saw this art project using egg carton trays. Now, we're big egg consumers; we also tried doing Egg Mosaic art project to make use of the many egg shells that we have, so I said, why not try making something out of these egg trays.

The kids also have oil paint that they never use. I tried to use these on the carton tray, and came up with something like this below.

What do you think, could be a nice wall ornament by the dinner table, right?

Oil Paint

I don't have any experience with it. I am not a professional artist. I just do these small projects with my kids, and they give me pleasure and relaxation too.

My girl is long done with her watercolor project, but I was till doing mine. It was supposed to be the big flowers all through out, around 3 or 4, but I decided to make small ones and made different depths with them.

Since the tray was purplish, the colors didn't really come out as vibrant especially the red one. Hence, I added a white highlight around the red petals.

Unlike the big ones, I made the small ones start from inside-outwards just to really see how it would look like. They turned out fine, so I made 2 more. hehe

Again, these are not the most professional work of art, but art has become my outlet to release stress too. It takes my mind off things that bother me, even for just a short while.
