As the prize pool is now more than 1000 STEEM, I decided to create a post about what The Steemit Fantasy League exactly is, and what our plans with it are.
What is the Steemit Fantasy League?
I will put it short. Fantasy Premier League is a game with more than five million players based on the English Premier League. The game is about picking the players that you think will perform during match week. Amongst these five million, there are a couple of steemit users. Therefore decided to create a Steemit League within the official game. That enabled Steemit users to compete against each other. With two posts pr. week, written mostly by me, we are constantly growing the prize pool. The prize pool is only based on the rewards from these posts. The Steemit League only has 83 players competing. The value is massive, as the prize pool will continue to grow until the end of the season, and the number of players being so low.
The Prize Pool Structure
Acidyo has made a very fair prize pool structure rewarding almost half of the contestants. It looks like this, if the prize pool is at 1k STEEM:
1st place: 300 STEEM
2nd place: 150 STEEM
3rd place: 100 STEEM
4th-10th place: 30 STEEM each
11th-23rd place: 10 STEEM each
24th-48th place: 5 STEEM each
As we are only one third through the game, there's plenty of time for it to grow. My personal goal is to make the first place win 1.000 STEEM by the end of the game. It's possible.
Why Are We Doing This?
Mainly because we enjoy it. But also to prove the massive potential of steemit and STEEM. By user engagement, the technology of the STEEM blockchain we want to beat the official game. The official game has, as written, more than five million players. We want to, by the end of the season, have a greater prize pool than the official game. If we do so, the potential to attract thousands of users is massive. That leads me to the "roadmap".
Roadmap
Let's imagine the prizepool ends at 3.000 STEEM, and at the current prize of STEEM that would mean roughly 3.000 dollars. Only made by upvotes, resteem, etc. Therefore we want to take advantage of that. Take a look:
Now-May 2018
- Continue to grow prize pool with two post pr. week.
- Constantly listen to feedback from users.
March-May 2018
- Find and "hire" talented writers to write for us for the new season.
- Find and "hire" experienced marketing users to help us prepare a marketing campaign.
- Transfer STEEM to all winners.
- Find sponsors (users, companies etc)
May 2018 - July 2018
- Work on marketing campaign will begin.
July 2018 - August 2018
- The 2018 Steemit Fantasy League is created.
- The marketing campaign will launch a few days/weeks prior to the creation of the league.
August 2018 - End of season
- The Official Premer League Fantasy game will scratch their bald head and wonder how a fucking social media took over the whole fantasy game.
Inputs, Ideas, etc?
We are stronger and better together, and therefore we would love to hear your ideas, critic and what more on this roadmap.
