I’ve always had a thing for botanical illustrations and I’m starting a new series in order for me to improve in that aspect. This series would feature my original characters alongside various flowers. I’ll be creating them in pencil, because I’ll also like to increase my knowledge on tonal values. I hope you stick around and enjoy the series!
Process
I made use of Staedtler pencils and my Sinoart sketchbook
I started off with a sketch of my character before moving on to draw the flowers. Drawing peonies has always scared me, because of how complicated the petals are. I decided to face my fear and draw them, because one can only improve by taking on challenges! It turned out cool, but there’s room for improvement . All in all, I really love how it turned out!
