Hello, nice Hive community.
This is my first post in this community and I'm excited. I hope I do well for my first time and that you guys like it as much as I liked watching this movie. Today I was determined to watch a movie with my mom and I thought: "It would be a great idea to do a review, taking advantage that I will have a nice moment with my mom". So, after about thirty minutes deciding, we decided to watch a romcom from the 80's, one that she had already seen and that she recommended me a lot: Look Who's Talking.
🍿Before starting...🍿
The first thing I did was to tell my mommy that I wanted to watch a movie with her. I had a few options, but the lengths were almost three hours, and the very idea of watching such a long movie bored us. My mom told me it would be best to find a nice rom-com that we could both enjoy, because yes, we love that genre. We started scrolling through Netflix, seeing which one caught our attention, and after mocking the options Netflix showed us, we saw one where John Travolta was in it, and when my mom could read the title, she said to me:
―That one with John Travolta is great, but really old ―we both laughed, because when we saw the date, it was from 1989. Anyway, that didn't stop us from playing it, because she told me that it was very funny but at the same time, its romantic side captivated you, so I was waiting for it.
We got down to work with the preparation of the popcorn, and we poured ourselves a nice glass of soda with ice, we were ready, but first I wanted to portray the beautiful moment by taking this selfie and the photo of the snacks.
✨Synopsis✨
Mollie, the main character, got pregnant by her boss, who is a married man. But little Mikey will not stop talking and giving his opinion regarding Mollie's decisions.
🎥Review🎥
The film begins with an animated scene showing Mollie (Kirstie Alley), the main character, ovulating. Then, her boss is shown flirting with her, and then the egg that I mentioned earlier is fertilized. The scene is hilarious and a parody of the act of creating life.
We see how Mollie's friends do not approve of their relationship, as the man is married and refuses to give her the place she deserves. At this point I commented to my mom that the man was really obnoxious and that she deserved someone better.
At the point where our protagonist's water breaks, she gets into a taxicab, which is where she meets James (John Travolta). Her character is portrayed as scruffy but sexy. He rushes her to the hospital where she is going to give birth. Upon arrival, he accompanies her as he notices that she is in a delicate situation and, without him wanting it, he gets completely involved in the birth of Mikey (Bruce Willis).
Their relationship grows after they meet by accident, he starts being Mikey's nanny, but little by little he falls in the nets of love. Mikey, the baby, comments (in a very satirical tone) on how he likes James as a father, since he is the father figure he is growing up with. At this point, I was already in love with the chemistry James and Mollie had.
The characters get attached and the movie gets to my least favorite point: The Knot. Mollie and James have a loud argument, which causes them to make the decision to break up decisively. The boy doesn't notice it, he only begins to notice the lack of James, whom he wanted to "adopt" as his father.
After a problem with James' grandfather, they meet again and...
SPOILER ALERT!!
They return, but not before having an epic action scene where they rescue little Mikey from a situation of great danger.
The movie ends beautifully and with a happy ending. I cried, laughed and ended with a big smile on my face, hugging my mom and without any snacks, but I only cared that the main characters were happy.

A movie that fits completely into the rom-com genre, with the typical knots and the development of a cute romance that evokes nostalgia and brings us back to a time when everything felt easier.
My mom and I loved it. I can mention that I loved the soundtrack, it had some songs that I loved and I couldn't help but move to the beat of one song or another. A unique selection of songs that really put you in the mood. Travolta's performance is very dynamic and brings all his sensuality that he was known for back in the day. A great cast, beautiful visuals and nostalgic songs make this movie completely win my heart. I can't wait for my mom and I to see the sequel, and all the movies in this saga.
I highly recommend them to you, and in case you have already seen it, feel free to leave your opinion of the movie in the comments. Este es mi primer post en esta comunidad y estoy emocionado. Espero hacerlo bien para ser mi primera vez y que a ustedes les guste tanto como a mí me gustó ver esta película. Hoy estaba decidido a ver una pelicula con mi mamá y pensé: "Sería una genial idea hacer una reseña, aprovechando que tendré un momento lindo con mi mamá". Fue así como, luego de unos treinta minutos decidiendo, optamos por ver una comedia romántica de los años 80, una que ella ya había visto y que me recomendó mucho: Mira quién habla.
🍿Antes de empezar...🍿
―Esa de John Travolta es buenísima, pero viejísima ―ambos nos reímos, porque al ver la fecha, era de 1989. De todas formas eso no nos impidió ponerla, porque ella me dijo que era muy graciosa pero que al mismo tiempo, su lado romántico te cautivaba, así que yo estaba a la expectativa.
Nos pusimos manos a la obra con la preparación de las cotufas, y nos servimos un buen vaso de refresco con hielo, estábamos listos, pero antes quise retratar el lindo momento sacando esta selfie y la foto de los snacks.
✨Sinopsis✨
Mollie, el personaje principal, quedó embarazada de su jefe, quien es un hombre casado. Pero el pequeño Mikey no dejará de hablar y dar su opinión con respecto a las decisiones de Mollie.
🎥Reseña🎥
La película empieza mostrándonos una escena animada donde muestra que Mollie (Kirstie Alley), la protagonista, está ovulando. Acto seguido, muestran a su jefe coqueteando con ella, y luego, el óvulo que mencioné anteriormente, es fecundado. La escena es hilarante y toda una parodia al acto de crear vida.
Vemos como las amigas de Mollie no aprueban su relación, ya que el hombre está casado y se niega a darle el lugar que merece. En este punto le comenté a mi mamá que el hombre era realmente detestable y que ella merecía alguien mejor.
Al momento donde nuestra protagonista rompe fuente, se monta en un taxi, que es donde conoce a James (John Travolta). Presentan a su personaje como alguien desaliñado pero sexy. Él la lleva con mucho apuro al hospital donde ella dará a luz. Al llegar, él la acompaña ya que nota que está en una situación delicada y, sin él quererlo, se involucra por completo en el nacimiento de Mikey (Bruce Willis).
La relación de ambos va creciendo luego de haberse conocido por accidente, él empieza siendo el niñero de Mikey, pero poco a poco va cayendo en las redes del amor. Mikey, el bebé, va comentando (en un tono muy satírico) como le agrada James como un padre, ya que es la figura paterna con la que se va criando. En este punto, ya yo estaba enamorado de la química que tenían James y Mollie.
Los personajes se encariñan y la película llega al punto que menos me agrada: El nudo. Mollie y James tienen una fuerte discusión, lo que hace que tomen la decisión de separarse de forma decisiva. El niño no lo nota, solo empieza a notar la falta de James, a quien quería “adoptar” como su padre.
Luego de un problema con el abuelo de James, ellos se reencuentran y…

Ellos regresan, no sin antes tener una escena de acción épica donde rescatan al pequeño Mikey de una situación de gran peligro.
La película termina de una forma muy bonita y con un final feliz. Yo lloré, reí y terminé con una gran sonrisa en mi cara, abrazado a mi mamá y sin ningún snack, pero solo me importaba que los protagonistas estuvieran felices.

Una película que encaja por completo en el género de comedia romántica, con los típicos nudos y el desarrollo de un lindo romance que evoca nostalgia y nos trae de vuelta a una época donde todo se sentía más fácil.
A mi mamá y a mí nos encantó. Puedo mencionar que amé la banda sonora, tenía algunas canciones que me encantaban y no pude evitar moverme al ritmo de una que otra canción. Una selección única de canciones que te ponen muy bien en el ambiente. La actuación de Travolta es muy dinámica y trae toda su sensualidad por la cual era conocido en aquellos tiempos. Un elenco muy bueno, imágenes muy bonitas y canciones nostálgicas hacen que esta película se ganara por completo mi corazón. No puedo esperar a que mi mamá y yo veamos la secuela, y todas las películas de esta saga.
Se las recomiendo mucho y, en caso de que ya la hayan visto, no duden en dejar su opinión de la película en los comentarios.
