A Chinese news media outlet, XMNN reported that a Hong Kong woman was caught at the Shenzhen customs attempting to smuggle the phones from Hong Kong. Hundreds, if not thousands of phones are smuggled through those borders everyday to feed the lucrative mainland Chinese market where the booming middle income class has led to a spectacular increase in demand for phones. But most notable Apple iPhones.
Not just phones are smuggled all the time, but other luxury items such as handbags and watches.

According to XMNN, the woman's clothes looked exceptionally thick which did not fit the summer season. Furthermore, there was a bulge coming out from her body which did not fit her slim overall physique. Hence, they decided to let her through a metal detector.
Once she passed through it, the metal detectors went off and she was caught red handed.
