It is when we recognise that we have similarities with someone else, that’s when we find union.
An invisible bond is somehow created because you and I have something similar to talk about, think about and/or to just feel through.
Finding connection within ourselves and with others is (in my opinion) the basis of humanity.
And in an effort to bring togetherness between Steemians, I came up with this sort-of-contest called Being Real.
Being Real is where we take off our shame, leave the masks in the cupboard and just show who we are.
It is a space where I hope it is safe enough for you to show parts of yourself without judgment.
A space holding ‘contest’ where you can speak/write up about the things that make you YOU, and also deeply see that EVERYONE has these things in a myriad of ways.
It is about diving deep into full acceptance of who we are as people and removing the walls of shame we hold up.
Each post will look at a different aspect of life.
This obviously only works when more people comment what the topic of the post is!
The idea is to comment one or more things that relate to the topic.
And to support your fellow Steemians by upvoting their comments.
It takes a lot of courage to pipe up and be vocal about the things that usually no one talks about!
So without further ado, I will start!
Being Real #1 : Weird Habits
What weird habit do you have?
One weird habit that I have (oh gosh, I cannot believe I am writing this) is I am completely obsessed with hard hair that grows out of a mole I have on my face. If I can feel that there is a hair there, I CANNOT stop obsessing about it until I have plucked it out. I have even really gone out of my way to get to a shop to buy tweezers because all I could think of was that damn hair!
Okay. That was difficult to write but this is the whole point of Being Real.
So go on.
Answer.
What weird habit(s) do you have?
BIG love,
Ashley
