In a few weeks my daughter 'Kiara' will turn 4, time is flying. It very true to say that "They grow so fast !".

For Kiara's every birthday we usually try to spend time with her alone Just me , 
There are lot to consider when you take a toddler out for a photo shot half day. First of all we need to make sure they enjoys it . Then make sure they have slept and ate well. Carry those occasional treats/ snacks to keep them going.
Most of my friends and family says Kiara pose for the camera very well. But the truth is she dont, she is a very shy kids, very reserved, specially when there are new faces around. Its very hard to get her attention , she never stops moving. Never force them to get what we want , it will take the joy out of them. Try to warp up in an hour or two.
So what I do is usually to let her be in her own world and capture those beautiful moments. More like wildlife photography , you got to wait for the right moment with out disturbing them - ha ha just kidding :). I respect wild life photographers than any one else , its very hard and sometimes they take months and years to get those amazing shots - so not comparisons there !
So coming back to the topic. Whether you are a pro photographer, hobbyist , mom, dad, brother or sis trying to take photo of a toddler. Let them be free , play with them , be on their terms and capture those natural beautiful moments which you can cherish for ever!
These photographs are from her 2nd birthday , when we used to live in beautiful California!
