I had difficulties thinking of what to post but hey I reckon I should just perhaps share what to see or do in my trips!
Day 1 - 16 Apr 17 (Christchurch)
What's a road trip without a car? If you are not fussy about rental cars and just want to be assured with something that doesn't break down during the 4000km drive. I rented mine from http://www.anzed.co.nz/. Cheap and good, and Teddy is always willing to help.
The first day took us around the city centre of Christchurch. We wanted to take it slow after 12 hours of flight, hence we visited the places where most tourist would go. Too bad it was the Easter Weekend. Do not go during the Easter Weekend. The shops, even the super markets are all closed!
ReStart Mall: One of those fabulous ideas which sprouts up in the midst of calamity so that people can still live their lives.
Rebuilding is still a very long process, roads are still closed with barriers telling the public not to approach damaged buildings.
The Christchurch Cathedral
185 White Chairs representing 185 lives lost during the quake
Christchurch Transitional Church
Avon River
This is my first post on Steemit. Hopefully i got the formatting right and all. Do stay tune as I share more on my 12 Day road trip round the South Island!
