Growth or change is an extremely important part of our lives, but for growth to be achieved, certain things must be put in place. No one wants to be at one point for long, we all want some sort of change (positively), and in this instant personal growth (emotionally, spiritually, academically, etc.)
There is a high tendency of us choosing personal growth over consistency almost all the time, but the thing is to achieve growth one has to be consistent with the positive habits or things that promote growth, and fuels you.
I will choose consistency anytime because that is what will lead to my growth. They both are extremely important and shouldn't be traded for anything. When one has plants and does not consistently cater for their needs (watering, pruning etc.), well, we all know the end result. Definitely not a pleasant one.
I have never seen an overnight growth (not for plants, and definitely not for humans). A plant doesn't start to bear fruit on the day it is being planted, a child doesn't start walking on the day he is born (at least I haven't seen one).
“Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.” — Stephen Covey
Practising positive habits that helps in your growth will need a great deal of patience and patience isn't one of the easiest things to practice. Patience doesn't mean you sitting down and waiting for the growth to occur, it means you putting an effort into growing and waiting for the results to show up. Yes, it will take time, but it definitely will happen.
One might say that consistency tends to limit one's creativity but I believe that your creativity should be manifested in the positive habits you create for yourself and how you practice them.
Personal growth doesn't just happen on its own, it needs you to be very much aware and intentional about it. So, fuel your mind with positivity and work towards your growth, and you will achieve that growth you so desire!
Which will you choose though, Growth or consistency?
