What is Vaping or e-cigarettes?
Vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the water vapor produced by an electric device called vaporizer (or e-cigarette) Vaping is a tobacco-free, and in some cases even nicotine-free, version of a traditional tobacco cigarette, but we don't use the word smoking as there is no smoke.
A Brief History
Unknown to many Joseph Robinson originally came up with the idea of E-Cigarettes in 1927.
but in terms of vaping it was Herbert A. Gilbert came with the idea of vaping

During the 80s Phil Ray and Normal Jacobson Commercialized Vaping, but during the 90s FDA(Food and Drug Administration) didn't allow tobacco companies to commercialize e-cigarettes.
During the 90s vaping is also popular in europe thanks to Frank William Wood also known as Eagle bill amato The Father of Vapor, he invented the cannabis vaporizer incorporating cannabis with e-cigarettes technology.
All those events led to the invention of vapes as we know them today. It was in the 2000s when the Chinese pharmacist Hon Lik made the first e-cigarette. In 2006 his employer Ruyan Group, now Dragonite International, helped him introduce his invention to the world (first to Europe). What triggered his motivation, one might ask? The fact that his father died from lung cancer due to smoking is the sad answer.
The first e-cigarette appeared in the U.S. in 2007 and has become a very popular trend among people. Since then, vaporizers have gone through many modifications. We should mention the two brothers from the UK, Umer and Tariq Sheikh. They made e-cigs more customer-friendly, so to say. They invented the cartomizer.
What is E-Liquid or E-Juice??
E-Juice or E-Liquid is the mixture used in e-cigarettes to produce vapor and generally consists of PG(Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycerin), Water, Nicotine and Artificial Flavorings.
Propylene Glycol - PG
It is the more popular of the two liquids PG and VG its thin in consistency as a result the cotton inside the atomizers absorbs it easier.
Vegetable Glycerin - VG
This is a thicker solution compared to PG while PG is tasteless VG has a slight sweet taste which results to sweeter e-liquids it also serves to mask flavors making them harder to pick out.
Nicotine
Nicotine is a nitrogen containing chemical an alkaloid which is made by several types of plants including tobacco plant. Nicotine is also produced synthetically.
Artificial Flavor
The last ingredients of e-liquid aside from water and another factor that make e-liquids awesome.
How it Works?
Electronic cigarettes uses the power from a battery to heat a metal coil inside the Atomizer or Claromizer, the heat created inside converts E-Liquid into vapor, inhaling the vapor creates the same sensation that are created when smoking tobacco products, you benefit from the pleasures of smoking without any of the harmful tar building up in your lungs.
My Personal Experience from smoking tobacco products and vaping
I have been smoking tobacco products for ten years now I started smoking when I was 18 years old at first it was just for fun to look cool to your friends and girls, after 2 months I started to feel the urge to smoke more as I became more and more addicted to nicotine my cravings for cigarettes began to grow from 2 cigarettes a day it became 1 pack of cigarettes a day.
I can no longer finish a game of basketball after playing for 10 to 15 minutes I am tired already and quit the game but before smoking I can play 2 to 3 straight games of basketball without rest.
I am easily irritated and lazy I prefer to sit on my computer the whole day smoking and watching random videos on the internet playing games than go outside and hang out with my friends.
Last year my friend Ian Pascual Introduced me to vaping, he let me borrow one of his vape set and asked me to try it for a week He said "try using this instead of lighting a cigarette for a week"
He also gave me a bottle of E-Juice I-Clouds Strawberry Tobacco 50ml with 3mg of Nicotine tried it for a week loved it, the sweet taste and smell, the fun of blowing huge cloud of vapors as you exhale, made me quit smoking cigarettes and switch to vaping.
I am vaping for more than a year now so far the effects are great, I am able to play basketball longer now and hang out with my friends.
I am now making reviews on different E-Juice Lines available here in the Philippines and sometimes abroad to guide some of the newbies in vaping on what kind and flavor of E-Juice to buy depending on their taste preferences. and since I'm here on Steemit now and happy with this community I will be posting a lot of reviews here for our fellow stemians to read.
There are many variations of vaping, and we can even claim that vaping brings people together. You can use it with friends on a night out or chat about it with ex-smokers on online forums.
Additionally, the different flavors on the market make vaping enjoyable. Also, rechargeable and refillable kits can save a lot of money in the long-term.
On the other side, many studies reveal some negative side effects of vaping. They include dry mouth, dizziness and the accumulation of some toxic ingredients that can cause cancer.
Also, the popularity of vaping raises the question if all this advertising doesn’t push minors into vaping and smoking. On the other side, aren’t songs and trends that promote promiscuity and aggression much worse than a harmless vape?
Incidentally, many countries have already put some strict restrictions on vaping. Despite that, there’s still a long future ahead of vaping.
Always familiarize yourself with the products you choose and be aware of the areas where you can vape. Vape in moderation and taste history!
