One of the Many Projects Brian Constructed was purchasing a Porsce 928s with minor accident Damage .
This caused a lot of measurements to be taken !
Did you know a Golf 2 has roughly the same wheelbase and Track as a Porsche 928?, Me Neither?
So the obvious thing ( not to normal Mortals) was to combine the two!
So Brian repaired the Porsche and put a Golf GTI motor and Gearbox in it!
Just Joking!
He cut the Posche Body off, leaving all the running Gear , Seats, Dash, Steering etc.
Carefully removed the VW body from the Floorpan , Cutting, as not removable like a Beetle!
Matched the Porsche Bits to the Golf Body, you could not see the joints?
Open the VW Door, get in sit in a Porsche Interior , Open the Bonnet, both sides lined in Aluminium , Radiator just in front of you , and the Motor somewhat rearset!
Certainly the ultimate sleeper in looks ( Did have the Porsche Mags on).
Needless to say , The Car was Red!
It drove beautifully , handled well, and not a squeak anywhere!
Years later I saw this vehicle for sale at a Dealers , it was going for a ridiculously low price?, I have never been one to worry much about money?, hence, I usually do not have any? Strange That?
Just for fun I have put in a review of a Hot Golf below, Brian's would not have been that type of quick ?, but his finishing quality was better than anyone's!
Our Premier Drag Strip in South Africa is Rainbow at Tarlton, a little West of Krugersdorp . Close to where My Smallholding was ( sometimes Drag Cars were left at my place).
A lot of the Drag Cars raced there, had some input from Brian.
