Head of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Malikussaleh University, Dr Mohd Heikal, reminded all students who passed the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) program to optimize this opportunity to learn about cultural diversity and strengthen networks in new places.
Heikal made this statement when he released 13 students of the Management Study Program who passed the PMM program to STIE Bank BPD Central Java in Semarang, Central Java Province.
“This is a valuable opportunity for students to hone themselves. We hope that more students from the Management Study Program will pass in other independent campus programs in order to encourage students to have insight and diversity," explained Heikal at the Bukit Indah Campus, Lhokseumawe, Tuesday (14/9/2021).
According to him, with this program students will face different challenges so that not only collaboration skills are needed, but also creativity in thinking is also highly expected in facing this changing era. Through this program, students are also required to be able to adapt and be innovative in facing the future.
“The Minister Nadiem Makarim's Merdeka Campus Program is an important breakthrough for universities. Students have the opportunity to improve their competence because they gain cross-disciplinary knowledge and knowledge and to be more link and match with the business world and the industrial world," continued Heikal who was accompanied by the Secretary of the Management Study Program, Dr Adnan.
Since the Merdeka Learning Campus program was launched by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim, Management Study Program students have often been involved in it.
In addition to PMM, currently, there are two Management Study Program students who are participating in an independent study program from the Merdeka Campus, namely Lulu Ramadani (2018) at PT Andromedia about ERP studies in small and medium industries. Another student of the Management Study Program, Rati Pratiwi (2018) at PT Microsoft Indonesia in the independent study of Microsoft Productivity: The Modern Workplace.
The PMM activity, which will last for four months, has three main objectives, namely exploring and learning about the cultural diversity of the archipelago, making friends with students from various regions, as well as opportunities to study at other campuses in Indonesia.
Students who take part in the PMM will get facilities for air transportation costs, accommodation, and also living costs while participating in this program.
The thirteen students who passed were Siti Amiroh (2019), Polinawati (2020), Alifa Azeda (2019), Esti Ulandari (2020), Melisa Ardiana (2020), Ade heni Triyani (2020), Rina Aprilianti (2019), Fani Bintari (2020), Supriani (2019), Miftakhul Iqbal Andrian (2019), Muhammad Umar (2019), Siti Nur Balqis Qhomaini (2019), and Jefriadi (2019). "They depart on September 20 via Kuala Namu Airport," added Dr Adnan.
Mohd Heikal also left a message to PMM students to maintain the good name of Malikussaleh University while participating in the program by showing exemplary attitudes and behaviors and always maintaining cohesiveness and not being low self-esteem in order to have a strong motivation for the next four months.
