Today I visited the Samudra Pasai royal monument, this monument is about 300 meters from the tomb complex of Sultan Malikussaleh, founder of the Islamic Kingdom of Samudera Pasai in Beuringen Village, Samudera, North Aceh.
This kingdom was founded by Meurah Silu, or better known as Sultan Malik as-Saleh, around 1267 the existence of this kingdom was also listed in the book Rihlah ila l-Masyriq (Wandering to the East) by Abu Abdullah ibn Batuthah (1304–1368), Moroccan traveler who stopped in this country in 1345, the Pasai sultanate finally collapsed after the Portuguese attack in 1521. This monument was deliberately established as a form to remember the history of the Samudra Pasai kingdom. As a native of Aceh, I am certainly very interested in visiting this place. Not without reason, for me understanding history is very important! Because history is a symbol to recognize the identity of a nation.
And this monument was established in 2012. According to the news circulating, the construction of this monument has spent Rp53 billion than the total funding requirement of Rp71.8 billion more.
When we are here, I myself am bound to the figure of a king of Malikussaleh, a formidable king, a king who is honest and obedient to God's commands, and very fond of his people.
Of course, a leader who is highly coveted by the people of Aceh, Indonesia. And even a dream leader in the whole world. Yes, who does not want a country to be led by a good, honest and fair king.
And of course we all hope that there will be kings like Meurah Silu (Sultan of Malikussaleh), because with a good, honest and fair king, this world will be free from poverty, crime, drugs and even discrimination against certain tribes and religions.
