I, like many of my Muslim and African -American friends believed our world was gonna end after the election of Donald Trump in November of 2016.
I remember watching the election coverage and broke down in tears as they announced Trump had won the presidency, My phone became flooded with crying emoji's and words of sadness from my friends.
Many of my friends and family were frightened about their future in America, we had a dark cloud of uncertainty hanging over our heads.
I had good friends drive up to Canada to get out of America, they were scared for their families and children's future. My friends went into hiding, for months.
Yet after all that, here we are. Strong as ever and still in our home.
We are the future, the politicians of tomorrow, our generation will put an end to all this hate.
No matter what we will look forward and march on into a brighter future, where all people are welcome and hate and bigotry are no more.
