I've been super busy with an exciting project involving this election and the blockchain. We're getting super close to the election and the only way this project will take off is if we can get volunteers. I've noticed the political landscape here on Steemit is mostly anarchists and non-statists. But if this election goes sour the United States is going to be in dire straits and that could be a serious issue for everyone. So while it's completely quiet here on the political front, Facebook, Twitter and EVERY OTHER social media outlet is on fire with politics right now...
Out of fear many States are returning to paper ballots and hand counting which is a method far easier to commit fraud on than current electronic systems. Just see how unwanted paper ballots are handled with this photo captured the day after the California Primary outside of the Registrar of Voters office in San Diego.

We believe the blockchain is the only answer to having legitimate, transparent elections with ballots cast on a time-stamped public ledger. This community makes the most sense to evangelize this solution for the world and future elections. But do we have enough time to be heroes?
We also do not want an innocent country to be blamed for our own internal corruption and fraud. Wikileaks efforts to reveal the rigged election within the DNC has caused Russia to be setup as the bad foreign actor against the United States. Rather than be honest and deal with the systemic fraud and boogeyman is being created that could have devastating consequences. As a well informed citizen this is too much propaganda to stomach.
The group I'm working with has a prototype blockchain voting application that we would like to test and in the process we would like to introduce people standing in line at the polls to Steemit because we believe this place can be a powerful agent of change. If you're interested in more details let me know and I'll make a posting explaining who we are and what we need. Otherwise I'm going to keep trying to run this on facebook.
