Ayam Kampung /kampong chickens is a term in Indonesia for pet kampong chickens that are not handled by commercial mass cultivation and do not originate from strains or races generated for such commercial purposes.
Kampong chickens do not have the term chicken laying chicken or broiler. This is because the chicken lay eggs as well as the poultry and have the meat as animals in general.
The scientific name for kampong chickens is Gallus domesticus. Livestock breeding activities have existed since ancient times.
