Welcome to Carmen - the town landmark indicating we were entering the territory of Carmen. The town is adjacent to Danao CIty - our jump off area. We arrived at Carmen at around 11am but the sun was very unforgiving as we took the turn going to Brgy Corte where the resort is located. Good thing is, there were plenty of trees along the way giving us shade. But to set proper expectation, the resort is too far from the highway so please be patient.
When we arrived at the resort we were greeted by a beautiful landscape of tropical plants and herbs. Mayana is consider an herb so why not. But as we enter the premises the loud voices of kids playing in the background was so distracting that it grabs our attention. So we immediately settle ourselves far from the pool area where it was tranquil and a little peaceful. We then took turns in preparing the food and start digging. After a couple of hours, people start coming in.
The resort has plenty of rooms and treehouses as an accommodation but we opted at camping overnight. We were not able to take a look at their rooms but we were able to ask the rate. It was around P1500 per night at the time. In general, I love the natural setting of the resort and was very instagrammable except that there were a lot of people roaming around and the pathways were so narrow.
I would recommend the resort if it is exclusive for guests that stays overnight as the area can really get crowded. Other than that, the nature theme of the resort is very interesting except for the overpopulated mosquitoes that keeps bugging around.
