I've done quite a bit of walking last week, and there are always moments that make me stop and take a closer look. A lot of times, there's now way to capture the real moment. It's either too far away for the camera, or it just not within my capabilities to capture the feeling within the perspective and the frame.
Most of it is just appreciating nature at the right moment. I'm not one to take pictures of people. Animals, sometimes, but it's hard. I need the perceived steadiness, although that, too, is an illusion. This mountain with the clouds were very different just one minute later. If I hadn't been there at that moment, that picture would've looked very differently, and maybe I wouldn't even have taken it.
Others are easier. That mist didn't really go away too quickly. It came over, as rain. But the silhouette of Mt. Imbabura in the fog filled me with a lot of peace, for some reason. I mean, I was on the way to the courthouse to politely remind them of reacting to the lawsuit I've filed over two weeks ago about my daughter missing. I needed a little peace. maybe.
Feelings make up a lot of what I take pictures of. I saw this cable looking up, standing out against the clouds, and it felt endless. All grey, with little specks of light here and there, and some form of life clinging on to the cable.
This one had such beautiful colors in the background, against the grey and the stained bricks.
Wherever I go, Bougainvillae is there. I try to take a picture for , who was one of the first Hivers I followed and she had many pictures of that same flower and plant in her blogs.
The super rain was awesome. I got soaking wet, and my cellphone is supposed to be water proof, so I took the risk of exposing it a little more than usually. It was getting wet in my pockets, anyway - there was not a dry spot left on my body. It's hard to take pictures of water, though, as it's so fast. I thought about getting into the pro mode, but I was getting a little too cold already and had to walk quite a bit further, so I just left it there.
When I came down the hill to the bridge you can guess in the first water picture, there was a woman trying to get the rubbish out of this siphon. Since I was soaked, I just went in and took it out. And was rewarded with the most beautiful (and dirty) vortex.
I featured this picture in my last weekend engagement post. It's such an odd appearance. There's nothing behind it. It's rusty, dirty, the bow is stained from water, moss and probably mold. One side is traditional stomped earth wall, the other "modern" cement blocks. It gives for a lot of interpretation for those who like to do that.
Okay, I did take a picture of an animal. This calf was chilling out, half hidden in the high grass. Ellie and I were walking around the compound of NuevoSol, and some local herders had brought their cows in as they sometimes do. This one was little, and not bound. There was a bigger calf that was bound to a stick and very curious. After a little back and forth, we were able to pet it and scratch it behind the horns and ears, which it enjoyed very much.
That's it for today. And the whole last week. As always, any feedback and especially tips and tricks are very welcome! As long as it's not AI generated content or comment spamming... 😅
Thank you for stopping by!
All pictures are taken by myself with a Motorola Edge 60 Pro and I reserve the copyright - but you're welcome to ask if you'd like to use one of the pics!
