I would like to make a slightly different post today. This afternoon I was talking with my father, grandfather and a friend of ours about the Twin Towers tragedy. It reminded me of how many things were shown in the famous The Simpsons show that came to pass in the following years. 9/11 was only one example, however I began to think about the Trump election.
Putting my thoughtful face on.
Those of us who are more conspiratorially minded will be familiar with the similarities between the Trump/Hilary election and an episode in The Simpsons called Bart in the Future, which aired a staggering 16 years earlier, in 2000. The episode showed a future version of America where an adult Lisa (who looks strangely like Hilary, accurate to her very jewellery) sits in the Oval Office, lamenting the previous Trump presidency.
They look eerily similar, don't they?
The episode also showed President Trump's ride down the escalator, as well as his press conference.
Both complete with a blue suit and a red tie.
The fact that this was shown 16 years ago is staggering by itself, however, many miss out the part where Lisa comments on the economy which she has inherited from President Trump (It is interesting that the President after Trump is female; could Hillary go for a third round at the elections?).
Could this be only the beginning of a long hard road for America and the world as a whole? According to The Simpsons - the answer is yes. The Mirror quoted Dan Greaney, writer for The Simpsons, when he explained the reason for the prophetic episode:
Whether you believe this, or not, I will leave for you to decide. For me, one coincidence is possible. But showing both candidates in one episode, with their exact suits and accessory choices seems a bit too much. Either way, the episode does predict that America is heading into rough times, and it is not hard to see why, with the insane amount of debt and all sorts of political troubles.
Oh, and did I mention that The Simpsons also predicted the voting results map?
1 or 2 states difference. Pretty good for a guess, eh?
