Can't complain....

Well.... after the cross-planet plane trip with two kids (which went much better than the last time, when the little one screamed for most of the day long trip...).... we finally arrived in Australia for the grandchild trophy tour. Well, mostly it is for our respective parents to show off their grandkids to their friends and family! Possibly as a side effect, my wife and I will get some serious child free time... maybe, if the little one can warm up to her extended family!

We've rented a BnB further north from Canberra for an extended extended family reunion on my wife's side. It is my father in law's birthday, and it was pretty cool to have the larger family together.... even though that side of the family I don't know quite so well, so it was a day of trying to remember names and faces... something that I struggle to do at the best of times... and with jet lag... definitely not better.

I have to say, the scene that greets us in the morning is pretty damn awesome! Although, I'm still suffering pretty heavily from jetlag. Our oldest has settled quickly into the time zone, our little one hasn't.... which means that one of us will have to take care of her. Last night it was me... which meant that I didn't wake up until 1240 this "morning". When I woke, and looked at the time... I really thought that my phone had reset itself...

Anyway, it's nice to hear the kookaburras in the morning... and to see the muted greens that we grew up with. Plus the larger spiders that are completely freaking our children out! All things that remind us that we are living far from where we grew up (plus the relatives that keep dropping hints for us to return back...). However, our kids are definitely Dutch and don't want to move...
