I recently played with facebook VR on the rift and got to say its a really enjoyable experience. Doing video cahts playing cards or just knocking about in the VR space is tons of fun.
However there are many issues I see to it acquiring adoption outside of dedicated groups who just want to try the software.
The most obvious is the Price barrier a Oculus rift is still insanely expensive and that not even counting the system thats needed to run it.
Secondly comfort if I and a group of friends wanted to sit down and chat after work, while the Facebook VR is fun and novel nothing is more relaxing that just opening up and old school laptop or cellphone hitting call and comfortably having you convo no wires or headsets in the way.
Ultimately I love VR but while I think Facebook VR is gonna be fun for a while but I don't see it sticking around in the long term.
