Solidarity with the poor is not merely an act of charity but a mechanism for promoting the welfare of all peoples
More than 113 million primary school age children do not attend school-more of them girls than boys. More than 500,000 women die each year during pregnancy and childbirth from complications that could have been easily treated or prevented if the women had access to appropriate health care. More than 14 million adolescents give birth each year. International Development Goals which set targets for: Reductions in poverty, Improvements in health and education and Protection of the environment
Lots of things affect our general health and ocular health, sometimes yes it is limited to the eye other times it goes way beyond the eye, and our systemic reactions have lots of effects on the eye, whether it be pathologic or physiologic. Take for instance when your blood pressure levels increases, not necessary having a hypertensive condition but a transient elevation in blood pressure, it may be indicated on the eye by means of redness or injection, pathologic conditions such diabetes causes drastic and regular changes in vision as result of the glucose available and its conversion to galactitol and the other forms of reductions. So what with our general wellbeing and health is very important to our ocular health.
