Hello Ladies and Gentlemen of steemchurch peace be unto you all
Many Christians don't know their root and they suffer many suffering that shouldn't befall them. In the book of Matthew 16: 21-28, it talks of halfknowledge been a killer. According to Matthew, the disciples now know that Jesus Christ is the Anointed one. Then what about Messiah..? The suffering ,the death and then the glorification of Jesus Christ is the Messiahship .
Peter and some of the disciples did not understand the meaning of Messiah and hence they put up some reactions that can impeeds Jesus from fulfilling his mission and the devil also tempted him in the book of Matthew 4:8-10. But Christ harshly responded them.
Peter constantly spoke of the special revelation from God. He said as long as we are in the flesh, we need to constantly seek ways to depend on God for what ever word that comes from our mouths. Peter gradually became a man that can speak the mind of God and also tells the agenda of the devil. Is this the reason we cannot afford to follow any man lest we are misled.
One thing we need to know as we follow Him is that suffering and hardships are never compatible with our human nature, but those are meant to train our spiritual being and discipline. (James 1:2-4&13).
No man has ever prayed for suffering and hardship but let us allow God to train and discipline us in times when the need comes. This shows shows the mark of true discipleship as was declared by Christ Himself.
