This is in response to a dynamic challenge from @psos to post three pictures of previous travels in these times of stay at home. I got it from a post by @rmach. I can’t wait to play so here I am!
I’m going to post 3 pictures per day, and I’ll have them all be from the same place or maybe the same ride.
There is a road from Nogales to Bisbee Arizona. It's really not much of a road, close by the Mexico border and seldom used. I decided I needed to see so made a two day trip of it. Early on the second day I hit a mountain pass and found this overlook.
It's really remote. I mean REALLY remote. I didn't see another vehicle for over 12 hours on it. I was dumbfounded to find a working overlook. Turns out it is the first look into the San Pedro Valley. The spot where Coronado crossed into what is now the US. In 1540, nearly 500 years ago.
This view is to the west. You can see the road that I climbed to the top. I was hungry and needed a restroom as I had dry camped the night before but I was also enamored of this place.
This is the road down to the San Pedro Valley. Turns out the Coranado National Monument is down there a few miles and the road improved from that point on. It was, all in all, a wonderful adventure. I need to go back and take a little more time on the East Slope.
Thanks for reading all the way to the end. I really do appreciate it.
