Hello Steemit Community!
Ride with me today, as I take you on a road trip to the beautiful Canyons located in Andhra Pradesh, India.
When I read in one of the biker groups on Whatsapp that a Bikerni(Biker Girl) from Hyderabad is in town, I dropped her a message to check on the route towards Hyderabad, so that I could plan my solo ride scheduled the next day! It was awesome when she replied, inviting me to join her back to her town on the same date. Impromptu, you see!
After starting our ride the next day, when we halted for a quick breakfast bite on the foothills of Nandi Hills, I asked her about Gandikota and Belum Caves, which are located between the two states Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, now three, that includes Telangana. She agreed to my suggestion of exploring these two new places readily and that's exactly where our journey began!
On the way we discovered and had unsaid coordination, we cruised towards the Hyderabad expressway and took the right after "Kodikonda" and reached Gandikota after almost 300kms of riding, we reached our first pit stop.
"Gandikota is a small village in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh India, that is known for its spectacular gorge formed by the river Pennar which cuts through the Erramala hills. This beautiful piece of Nature’s architecture has come to be known as the Hidden Grand Canyon of India."
There are several other attractions near the village that allure visitors, the ancient and magnificent Gandikota fort that sits majestically on top of the gorge is one of them. Apart from the unmatched beauty of the gorge, the mystical charm of this fort makes a visit to this village all the more exciting for history lovers and adventure seekers.
The hot weather did not make any difference when we were witnessing the majestic view of nature. We had a couple of soft drinks and then we forced ourselves to leave the place, as we had to reach the next stop in time - Belum caves which was around 60 km away
Thank you for following me on a ride to Gandikota, tomorrow I will take you on a photo tour of the Bellum Caves.
