Hello everyone
A beautiful and lovely day to you my friends, lover of creativity and hive at large, I hope you are all doing great on this great day, it is so nice to be here today in this great community to share with you with great pleasure the step by step process on how I made a stylish gown outfit for my little niece for Sunday service using African print fabric.
My niece's paternal grandmother sent this fabric as a gift to my sister to make beautiful outfit for the children and as the seamstress in the family, the fabric was sent to me and I decided to make this stylish design for my little niece first, after which I will proceed to the making of the older daughter. Without wasting much time, let's get started with the cutting and sewing process.
With my little niece measurement, I folded the fabric in two to cut out the measurements from the waistline to knee length for the front and back with lining and zipper allowance at the back
The front and back were sewn together with lining to turn it inside out and the dart were sewn in as well
The hem circumference was taken and I cut out x 3 x of it from the main fabric, it was taken to the sewing machine as a ran a long stitch on it and gathered it together to the exact knee circumference measurement I took out.
The gathered pleat and the lower bodice were sewn together and set aside as I proceeded to the cutting of the upper bodice.
For the front and back of the upper bodice, I cut out a basic block pattern using her upper bodice measurement with zipper allowance at the back, it was turned inside out with lining for neat finishing after which it was sewn together on both sides with the side seam allowance
The upper bodice was sewn to the lower bodice on the waistline with the zipper sewn to the zipper allowance at the back
I decided to make a puff sleeve for the outfit and I went ahead to cut a short puff sleeve with an elastic band to gather the hem together.
Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and I have my beautiful outfit ready for my lovely little niece.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of this outfit, please, join me in my next post as I bring to you other beautiful creativity.
