Hello hiveians
When given a plain and pattern fabric for sewing, there are various ways in which this can be done, before now, I found it difficult to combine two fabrics together especially when it comes to plain and patterns fabrics but as time goes on, I realised that whichever way this is done, it is called creativity.
I was given this fabric by a client of mine to make a skirt and blouse for her, initially, the thought of making the skirt plain came to my mind but after a second thought, I decided to give the skirt a little touch of the pattern fabric since the skirt and blouse will be worn together.
After cutting out the bodice pattern for using my client's measurement for a straight long skirt with vent slit at the back, I also cut out a long strip of 3" from the pattern fabric and sew it on the front part of the skirt from the dart leg straight down to the hem of the skirt.
After these has been neatly done, the front and back were sewn together and I have this beautiful straight skirt.
As simple as this, join me in my next post as I bring to you the finished blouse too to make a complete outfit.
