Hello adventurous friends, this was a really special day because it was my first experience riding a dromedary in an area called aguergour which is like a desert in north africa. The most interesting thing about the experience is being able to interact with the Berbers who live in the desert and who have very different customs from ours, and of course they are specialists in drinking their "Moorish tea" what do you think if you join me in this experience!ππ§π©

It was a very long and tiring trip because the Agafay desert is more than two hours from the hotel where I was staying, but this great experience was definitely worth it. Few people are fortunate enough to see a biome as interesting as the desert, I could not compare it with that of the Zahara because it has a different ecosystem, the towns that settle here, many of them are Berbers, have access to drinking water using underground wells and this is an advantage that you do not have in the Zahara! but I was surprised how people have inhabited the desert for thousands of years.πͺπ«π©

The first thing that catches my attention is the high level of poverty that the country has and how people do whatever is necessary to survive. I was interviewing our guide and he told us that the King created several cooperatives throughout the Agafay desert. to try to help the local inhabitants, many of whom are Berbers, they are a very primitive ethnic group that even have their own language and literally do not speak English or another language, making their sources of income difficult! but these activities that are tours in the desert help them a lot in the economic part!π©π«

The Berbers, as I mentioned, are an ethnic group that occupy North Africa until they reach Egypt. In their beginnings they were nomads and depending on the desert they used either dromedaries or camels. Our Berber friend explained to us that a dromedary is an "all terrain" because of the morphology of their legs, while camels are only designed to walk in the zahara!ππ§

Before taking a walk with the dromedaries in the desert, the Berber family that received us put on the clothes they used, today they are more "up-to-date" and dress in more modern things, however the clothes are quite beautiful and comfortable for the horrible heat that it is in summer! One of the customs of the Berbers is to drink the tea that is composed of: mint leaves and it is very sweet, do you know why they drink hot drinks in a desert? They explained to us that it is because it was a way to clean the water collected in the oasis.π³ββοΈπ«π©

Walk with dromedaryπ©π/Paseo con dromedarioπ§π

What interesting animals are the dromedaries xD, they look like horses but with a more irregular and heavy "gait", they are resistance machines and can, like the camel, spend many hours without drinking water or even days, the dromedaries are like "sons" to the Berbers because they are used for many things from agriculture to a source of tourist income! we for $25 per person did this whole experience! but they are one of those unique experiences in your life!π©π«

It is never recommended to visit North Africa in summer because the temperatures are too high, they can be around 40-50 degrees, crazy! therefore the best height of the year is spring, there are some places in Morocco where winter sports are practiced in winter because the mountains freeze!ππͺ
