Violet Sabrewing Campylopterus hemileucurus
Just before the entrance to the Mongteverde Clooud Forest Reserve is a small cafe, shop and outside seating with multiple hummingbird feeders. The feeders are fabulous with the hummingbirds there seemingly feerless of humans and far actually far more cooperatively feeding than in most places where they are extremely territorial. This large purple male Violet Saberwing is the king of the roost, but lots of other species are present. In a visit I saw 6 species including:
Purple-throated Mountain Gem Lampornis calolaemus
Internet is weak here for me so I'll leave with just this and put up an extensive post when I get better connection.
Good birding.
