Okay my hungry chocolate loving Steemians! Time for some serious chocolate!
Word has it my friends over
are looking for sweets! No don’t worry, it has nothing to do with juice or juice pulp, lol. I have always been a Christmas baker. Love making candy, breads and cookies. I promised to bring dessert to a neighborhood open house this weekend so I thought I’d better start today.
Anyway, I wanted to send a sweet tweet of thanks to my hard working friend
and since I think she likes Truffles, Truffles it will be! I haven’t been part of
Community for very long, but she has been so kind and welcoming. I think she must work 24-7…she posts The Daily Whistle Stops at all hours of the night! I think I can speak for my fellow passengers to say we appreciate her! Chocolate in large quantities would be necessary to do what she does! I'd better get busy!
Nutty Chocolate Truffles
Truffle-icious Ingredients!
- Pecans (1 cup)
- Walnuts (1 cup)
- Cocoa Powder (1 tbsp.)
- Sea Salt (1/4 tsp)
- Medjool Dates (pitted) (qty. 12)
- Theo’s Dark Chocolate Baking Bar (qty 1)
- Coconut Oil (If needed)
Walnuts and Pecans go into in my good old Food Processor, Walter. Do you know, he is 40 years old? My father gave that to me for Christmas the first year we were married. It has moved all over the country with me. Walter’s a beast, weighs a ton, but he never lets me down.
When the nuts are ground pour them in a bowl and set aside. Process the dates next, adding ½ the meal and the cocoa. Add more nut meal if you need it while you process until fine.
Roll these guys into balls and into the freezer for 15 minutes. Look tasty yet?
Melt the chocolate slowly in a bowl over boiling water. Roll each truffle in the chocolate and place on your parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle nuts or Cacao Nibs over each one as you go. Back into the freezer for few minutes.
Voila! Nutty Chocolate Truffles!
Enjoy! My friends
,
, and you too
!
Caution! Holiday baking has begun!
Stay tuned, more gifts and treats on the way! I hope you’ll stop in!
And as always, blessings to you all!
