Happy Saturday my Steemit Sandwich Foodies! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Here we are week 75 of the Steemit Sandwich Contest! A huge thank you to our favorite sandwich King
for continuing to host this fabulous contest! He is an amazing sandwich creator himself! If you’re not familiar with this weekly Sandwich fun you should check it out! It’s a great opportunity to have a lot of fun…and added bonus enjoy delicious sandwiches!
This week the Birds are ready for a Royal Rumble! Are you ready for some heat?
When I thought about my sandwich this week I thought about my fellow sandwich elf
. She has shared how very hot it is right now. A real scorcher she has said! So I thought I would send a little bit of sandwich relief her way! She’s been working so hard with all of her guests, friends and family! She deserves a sweet cool treat!
Nutty Chili Chocolate Breakert Sandwich
Yesterday I shared delicious Doughnut Rings, we’re using those for our sandwich today! They were quite tasty and luckily there were a couple left over!
Now….Nutty Chili Chocolate
- Frozen Bananas
- Cocoa Powder
- Cayenne Powder
- Avocado
- Full Fat Coconut Milk
- Maple Syrup
- Macadamia Nuts
- Fresh Banana
Old Walter my trusty food processor came to the rescue for this one! Place all of the ingredients except the fresh bananas and the nuts in your favorite food processor and pulse it until it is chocolatey smoooooth! I would advise you go easy on the cayenne, taste as you add. If you’re a bit fragile just add about 1/8 tsp but if you like HOT go for 1/4 tsp or more! It’s between you and your taste buds!
Pour half of your chopped macadamia Nuts into the chocolate and stir. Now pour this into a parchment lined baking dish and sprinkle the remaining nuts over the top of the chocolate. Into the freezer for about 3 hours. You want to be able to slice the ice cream.
While the Chocolate is freezing I thought we would make Strawberry jam!
Strawberry-licious-ness
- Fresh Strawberries
- Maple Syrup
- Chia Seeds
Simmer the strawberries with Maple syrup and a couple teaspoons of water. When the strawberries have softened, mash them a bit and add the Chia seeds. Let the strawberries continue to simmer until they thicken. I like to taste to make sure they’re sweet enough! I set them aside to cool while I sliced the chocolate!
Assembly time!
- Ice Cream from the freezer, slice in rounds
- Slice the fresh Bananas
- Slice the doughnut!
Doughnut on the bottom, topped with sliced banana, Chili Ice Cream and topped with Strawberry Jam! Voila!
Cheers to a Cool Saturday! A Nutty Chili Chocolate Breakert Sandwich!
But wait, what in the world is a Breakert sandwich you ask?
Very simple my friends….a sandwich you could have as breakfast or dessert! Breakert! Genius, right? lol
Thanks for stopping by my friends! Good luck to my fellow Sandwich elves!
And as always, blessings to you all!
