These are, in all words, the findings of a new study on electronic cigarettes conducted by 1300 students.
"Electronic cigarettes make a dangerous entry gate to smoke". It is just one of the themes that are discussed in the e-smoking world. Last month, the US Center for Disease Prevention has warned that e-cigarettes are being used more and more by young people. The center suggested that young people could thus get addicted to nicotine and thus find the way to a regular cigarette.
The recent study by Dr Theodore Wagener of the University of Oklahoma (Health Sciences Center) has never been thoroughly investigated.
Dr Wagener and his team interviewed 1,300 students about their tobacco and nicotine use.
43 students indicated that their first nicotine product was an electronic cigarette
Only one student indicated that they had to make the switch to ordinary cigarettes
This shows for the first time that electronic cigarettes do not play an important role as a step towards ordinary cigarettes.
The fact that all the evidence has been delivered is certainly not sure. It does indicate that the "warnings" can be taken with a serious grain of salt. Additional research will be required to solve this issue in full. Moreover, it only indicates how the situation is today. In the future, the story can look completely different.
You should not be shy about this issue. It is a matter of being vigilant and taking all necessary steps to prevent young people from making the switch from electronic to ordinary cigarettes.
It may not be that a product that has come to the market first to rediscover people, encourages individuals to reverse the move.
By the way, the electronic cigarette is not meant for non-smokers. We can not understand at the moment that a non-smoker searches for an electronic cigarette. Here too we have to think about it. Electronic smoking should not be presented as cool, hip or trendy.
What are we doing differently?
