For your next vacation, why not consider renting your own private villa in Bali?
I've been to Bali a few times now, and I'm growing to love it more each visit. My first few trips I stayed in the larger luxury hotels, and mostly was left feeling underwhelmed. They just never look as good as they did in the pictures, I guess things wear out quickly and don't often get fixed or replaced when they do. Add to that kids shrieking and screaming as they run around the pool, and my relaxing tropical vacation is disappearing by the minute.
Thankfully, some local Balinese friends suggested to me the option of renting a private villa. For a comparable price to the big hotels I could have my own private piece of paradise. I can tell you, this is definitely the best tip I've ever been given. Now, when I go to Bali, I have a few favourite villas which I return to, and would never go anywhere else.
VILLA KUBU, SEMINYAK - BALI
Villa Kubu is one of my favourite spots for a reason. The thing I like is that there are 17 individual and unique villas to choose from. They range from 1 to 5 bedrooms, so depending on how big the group is you can choose exactly the right villa for your needs. All of them are exquisitely designed in a modern Balinese style with luxurious furnishings and fittings. But, the best bit, each villa has its own private tropical garden and pool. I've now stayed in 2 different villas here (1 & 2 bedroom) and they were both outstanding.
This trip, there were 4 of us, so we opted for one of the 2 bedroom villas which was perfect. Days spent lounging and sipping wine by the pool, and then an afternoon stroll to the beach and some dinner in Seminyak. That is pretty much me sorted for a vacation. Good friends, food, drinks and a tropical location. 4 days of this and I am ready to tackle work again.
The lounge and dining areas in this villa are open and great for when you want to be social. We spent most of our time here, simply relaxing by the pool, and enjoying a few glasses of wine ;)
Our villa also contained a beautiful indoor/outdoor bathroom with rainfall shower which was always inviting for a cool fresh shower in the hot Bali heat.
The villa complex at Kubu also contains a tasty restaurant and a Day Spa if your loved ones require an extra little pampering.
I plan to head back to Bali next month and am already excited to choose which villa I want to stay in. So, do yourself a favour on your next holiday and look outside the chain hotels, you never know what little gems you may find.
