As of the time of writing this, Steem is $1.29. When I first started a few months back, it was in the mid $3’s I believe. I immediately had a ton of interaction with folks and things took off. Today? Not so much. Why is that?
This is the time to capitalize on Steem being so low!!! I’m buying when I can and adding to my stack here. I’m writing and interacting. I’m as involved as ever. Yet, I’m baffled at not only the folks who have mysteriously vanished recently but for those that remain that aren’t doing their part to help this place grow. This is also the time to support the little guys and gals here. Help prop them up a bit....show them that they matter in this community...but that does not seem to be happening. Is this a flaw of Steemit? Just shitty human nature? Or both?
A few major problems I see is that this place has a lot of band wagoners. When things are great they will be here with pom poms but when the going gets tough, they jump ship and turn coat. Very similar to so many sports fans.
The past couple weeks have been real rough in terms of visibility and acknowledgment. Upvotes have been extremely low for not only myself but lots of friends that I interact with. I see more folks powering down in this time which makes zero sense to me. This is the time to power up! Maybe I’m the dumb one. I don’t know. Do you all know something that I don’t?!? I’m seriously looking around for like minded people that not only want to advance and grow their own account in times like this but help others achieve the same thing...there just are not many of us to be found. I’m confused...
So I ask...to those that have weathered the storms before. What’s going on? What did you do when you were rocking my kicks? What do folks like myself do in times like this? Any advice for novices?
To those that are in similar boats as mine...what are your thoughts? What are you doing? The same, more, less? I’m curious to hear from you as well.
I’ve had 3 friends join recently and all have pretty much given up on it. They all put in decent effort for a bit and felt like there was 0 support at all for the new kid on the block. I personally feel they should plow through it but I understand their frustration. How can we expect this place to grow if most don’t care about growing it?!?
I’ll leave you all with one of my favorite gif’s...I hope to interact through comments with friends and new users alike. Let me know your take on the current state of this place.
