"Morning walks clear the mind and cleanse the soul"
It was a quiet morning in the city 🌞
I walked through the busy streets going to the most serene place in the middle of the city. The Iloilo Esplanade.
As I walked in the iloilo esplanade I saw people working on the wall sculptures at the right side of the entrance. The sculptures are the different warriors in dinagyang festival. It was colorful and full of life. In the center part is a warrior raising a santo niño.

In the center area we can see different kinds of plants. One of them is a beautiful flower we call kalachuchi in our local dialect or plumeria in english.

And on the left side of the esplanade is the statue of Datu Paiburong. He is the leader of all the datus in panay island. Back then iloilo was named irong-irong.
His statue is surrounded by different colorful plants. Some of them are crotons, roses and other colorful flowers.

Near the statue you of datu paiburong is the lighted signage saying my heart beats in iloilo city. Behind the signage is the famous iloilo river.

Esplanade 1 is almost 1.5 km long beside iloilo river. Then you can go across esplanade 2. People can go jogging or walking around the two esplanads. There are benches and covered areas so people can take a rest. The esplanade walkway is also surrounded by tall trees and thick plants to provide shade and fresh air. The river is a protected area where mangroves can grow to help prevent flood.

I noticed the clouds are getting dark and i think it's going to rain. So i decided to find a place to eat my breakfast and to take shelter from the rain.
