It's a #MarketFriday again by . For today's Market Fridays I will be sharing with you how we celebrated Valentines Day.
There's a saying that goes,
A way to m̶a̶n̶'s̶ person's heart is through the stomach.
Whoever said this just wanted to be served with food because that person doesn't love cooking but loves to eat 😆.
Anyway, while many were receiving their special gifts, flowers, handwritten notes, food, chocolates and something sweet on Valentines, some of us in the workplace were left empty handed and with empty stomach, lol! 😆.
But we didn't let the day pass without a simple celebration and have our stomach full at least. 😅
We decided to chip in so we could have a sumptuos meal before we leave the office. Chipping in for food is usually what we do so we could spend less on food that we want to enjoy together. As long as we agreed on what kind of food, how much we would spend and where we would order the food, then we're up.
We decided to order bilao. Bilao is a food package wherein food are placed in a bilao or a wide and rounded basket. In a bilao different dishes are included in certain proportions. It is good for up to 15 people.
This kind of food service started during the pandemic when people cannot go out to restaurants or food houses. So instead, food businesses were creative enough to think of ways so they could still continue with their businesses despite the restrictions.
Until now this business is still doing great since on the consumers part, it is more convenient to order food than prepare it our selves especially for occassions or if there are unexpected guests at home.
One of our colleague also bought a cake as his treat for us since his birthday is fast approaching. He gave us his advance birthday treat. So aside from the bilao food package, we also had cake as dessert making this food bonding sweeter and satisfying.
This were all the food we shared among us during Valentines day.
The bilao costs 36$ but each of us only spend around 2.5$ since we chipped in for it.
And of course there will always be a mandatoy groufie before partaking the food.
We really had a great time eating, laughing over silly jokes and just updating each other's lives. Sometimes it pays to have group bonding like this because sometimes because of our busy schedules we forget to say "kumusta" or how's life going even if we are on the same workplace.
So who said we need someone to fill our stomachs so they can get to our hearts? No need for that because we can buy ourselves food and enjoy each others company and bonding moments.
Happy weekend dear hive friends!
