I joined Steemit right after hearing about it in July of 2016 from 
, but didn't really start posting any content until this past spring.
This was due to the fact that I had the chance to work with Papa cutting grass all over Oklahoma and Missouri. We spent all day together for the better part of a week every other week for almost 2 months straight.
In between cutting locations and late nights at the hotels Papa was always busy getting his Steem On.
He was either creating content, responding to comments and replies, or administering contests. I'm sure he was doing other tricks of the trade with SteemIt, but hasn't made me privy to that information yet. :)
It was during this observation of him that I saw Steemit for what it really was:
A REVOLUTION IN SOCIAL MEDIA
AND
A PART OF THE REVOLUTION THAT IS CYRPTO
Now, as I begin to close out 2017 and get prepared for 2018, I find myself reflecting on this past year's events in general, and the last 9 months on SteemIt in particular.
Just yesterday, the same day I reached 1000 followers, I was able to participate in the Crypto Revolution for the first time by trading Steem for a fraction of a Bitcoin on 
!
To make it even more meaningful, the amount I traded out was able to be converted from Bitcoin into USD via Coinbase.
This amount is the exact amount I needed to buy the rest of my framing material for my families future home.
I am amazed and truly blessed!
