Holy cow, are you tired? It has been an absolute blitz the past four days. More basketball than you could fit in a... something really big.
Did your team make it through unscathed? Did your bracket?
Yesterday gave eight more games to lock in the Sweet 16 teams that are on the road to the finals.
Believe it or not, there was only one upset victory yesterday.
6 seed USC over 3 seed Kansas.
I don't know, but there is something about those west coast teams this year. They usually play at a lightening pace, but it seems like no one can keep up with them this year. They are literally blowing their opponents out of the water.
In face, there wasn't a single "close" game yesterday. Not if you are just going by the final score. With much chagrin, I have to mention that Michigan is the only Big 10 team still in the tournament. What a massive let down. It kind of makes you question if our conference was even as good as they said we were.
Maybe we were just all evenly matched mediocre teams, that's why it felt like the competition was so tough.
I don't know, but I think many people agree it is a bit of an embarrassment and hopefully my conference will be out to change the opinion of them next year. It will be a long road to prove it for sure.
Now we have to sit and wait for next Saturday to see any college basketball (unless you are watchin the women's tournament or the NIT).
I was going to highlight the games, but I will actually leave that for Friday.
For now, let's look at some score differentials to show just how lopsided the games were yesterday...
Oregon over Iowa by 15 points
Gonzaga over Oklahoma by 16 points (this was actually a really good game and fairly close at the beginning of each half.
UCLA over Abilene Christian by 20 points
Creighton over Ohio by 14 points
Michigan over LSU by 8 points. This game was probably the closest of all of them. I watched the score through the game and I think Michigan may find themselves in trouble fairly soon here.
Florida State over Colorado by 18 points
Alabama over Maryland by 19 points
and finally
USC over Kansas by an unholy 34 points!
Remember what I said about those west coast teams!?
