Snow
This isn't going to be a super long post, it is a pretty busy Friday, but I have some things that I wanted to share.
This is what and I had in terms of snow when we went to bed last night. This morning we woke up and there were about four to five inches on top of this.
It is that time of year folks! When we ride together to work we usually take my wife's car. The gas mileage is better and it is nicer than my truck.
We took the truck today though, four wheel drive is pretty much a neccesity. Our commute to work takes us through many country backroads that the snow plows don't always get to right away. There is always a heated debate at work on days like this about whether school should have been closed or not. It is a hard call to make and I am glad that I am not the one who has to do it.
Monsters
If you play Steem Monsters you know that it is the end of the second season. and I made out pretty good in terms of rewards with her getting 8 booster packs and me getting 13 booster packs.
I'll do the math for you, that makes 21 packs total, a value of $42 USD, not bad for a couple hours of fun. If you still see Steem Monsters just as game, you really need to re-evaluate your mindset.
With her free packs my wife pulled two legendary cards including this summoner gem. It is the first Selenia Sky either of us have gotten and it is currently on the Steem Monsters market for about $11 USD.
That is just the tip of the iceberg though, there have been people selling cards for much more than that. In fact a legedary promotional card you could have gotten for joining the kickstarter campaign with a buy in of only $50 is currently on the market for $140 or so.
The potential for profit is there if you are willing to look for it. I already think it is a fun game. With the updates that the team has in the works, I think it is going to be even better. If you don't have one yet, get yourself a starter pack and start digging deeper into this opportunity!
In case you haven't been following me that long, this past Summer I wrote a series about my battle with testicular cancer.
It was right around this time last year I started a journey that would take me through many tests, a surgery, and radiation therapy.
I can't believe I forgot to post an update sooner, but last week I had an appointment with my oncologist and he doesn't need to see me again for another year!
This is great news and means that I am hopefully on my way to a full recovery. I have to continue to see the doctor once a year for four more years but as long as those go well I can hopefully say farewell to him forever.
This past year has been really crazy and I couldn't have made it through without the love and support of my friends, family, and most of all . She has been great sitting through my appointments with me and asking the questions that I don't remember to ask.
Instant Pot
Are you guys familiar with these things? I have to believe that some of the people over at #steemkitchen have probably at least heard of them if they don't already own one. found a really great deal on one pre black Friday and we decided to go ahead and take advantage. The way I understand it, it can serve seven different functions, but mostly it is a pressure cooker for the 21st century.
I am looking for feedback fellow Steemians, if you do have one, what is your favorite thing to cook in one? What was your most epic fail with your Instant Pot? Share your stories with me in the comments. We are really looking forward to digging in and seeing what kind of potential this thing has.
That's all I have for this snowy Friday, try to stay warm! If you are already someplace warm, try to stay cool!
