Hello, Brad here from Chicago. I have been obsessed with craft beer for around 11 years now and just love trying new kinds and enjoying favorites, reading about it, talking about it, brewing it, trading it. I regularly attend beer fests, beer shares, and travel to breweries around the country. When I travel somewhere, I am the guy you’ll see sitting in a brewery.on his luggage with a flight. Beer is all about people - it has the universal appeal that makes it the perfect vehicle for celebrating with family and friends, meeting new people, connecting with the world around us. There’s nothing else like it. And if you don't like beer….well then your not drinking the right stuff!
A craft beer obsession alone can leave one a bit ragged, fat, and broke. I have adopted an active lifestyle and healthy diet in the last few years to balance it out. Experimenting a lot with intermittent fasting, the ketogenic diet, and a low-carb lifestyle has allowed me to enjoy my favorite pastime guilt-free. Since April 2017, I have lost about 60 pounds.
These results did not come about without plenty of hard work as well. I went from not being able to run a mile to now being a full-time runner, currently training for marathons throughout 2018. I am also engaged with weightlifting, 10th Planet No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, yoga, and biking.
I also like trying alternative therapies and experimenting with different supplements to find which ones that work for me and which ones do not. In the last year, trying different kinds of sauna, being cryo frozen, chiropractic care, and using combinations of herbal supplements have been very beneficial but I continue to always look out for new ways to increase my mental and physical health.
When I am not working, or working out and enjoying beer, I like to read, mostly about brewing, philosophy, psychology, lifestyle design, but only occasionally fiction. I enjoy crosswords, puzzles, and Sudoku. I go hiking anytime I can fit it in and am near a good spot. I love growing hot peppers and trying new hot sauces. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my wife, especially relaxing together, sipping coffee, talking, and watching bad movies.
