My Last First Kiss From You.
I can still recall the scented summer breeze that filled the night-time air
And in my mind, vividly clear, I can see you standing there.
The willow leaves swayed back and forth, as if dancing to a tune
To the rhythm of beating hearts, and the pining of the moon.
You drew me close, I breathed you in, the yearning was severe
There was no doubt that my love for you was blatantly sincere.
Then as our lips, in firm embrace slowly intertwined,
I could feel each perfect moment of that night, engraved into my mind.
My soul cried out to touch your heart amidst passionate soft sighs
Interrupted only by the moments when, we got lost in each other’s eyes.
Nightly hours stumbled on, while you crept deeper ‘neath my skin
And with no will left to resist, I had to let you in.
We fell asleep in each other’s arms against starlit willow bark
So, came the end to that lovestruck night, and Kissing in the dark.
Now remnants left of youth and spring, still at that dancing branches hides,
For the luminescent morning sun exposed to me, your absence by my side.
